I am a Computer Science PhD Student at University of California, San Diego, advised by Professor Vineet Bafna. My interests are mainly in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. In particular, I develop algorithms to study complex structural variations in human genome to improve understanding of human biology and genetics of disease.
Prior to coming to UC San Diego, I obtained my B.S. in Software Engineering at University of Tehran, in Iran. I won bronze medal in National Olympiad in Informatics and I was member of Iran's National Elites Foundation, the national organization that gives scholarship to less than 200 students each year.
Beside my academic endeavours, I am one of the co-founders of Cafebazaar.ir, the leading smartphone application marketplace for Persian speakers serving close to 25 million smartphone users. I was Product Manager at Adad.ir, the largest mobile advertising network in Iran.
